Getting into Nepal
Other than through overland trips from India and Tibet, most tourists enter Nepal through its one and only airport in Kathmandu.
If you’re coming from Europe, there are very few direct international flights into Kathmandu. You’d need to transfer in India (New Delhi), Thailand (Bangkok) or Singapore.
From North America, you must also first fly into Asia to Bangkok, Malaysia, Singapore or China before connecting to Nepal.

As Nepal tends to have electricity issues and shortages, it’s best to make sure that your choice of hotel has a generator. This is crucial for travellers who need to have 24-hour availability of electricity. Although they might state in their description, it’s advisable to confirm with them before booking.
Although high-end hotels tend to have reliable supply of heated water, mid to lower-end hotels might not always have this facility. This issue might be worsened during the peak seasons with higher occupancy.

Transportation in Nepal
Due to the extreme weather change throughout the year, inadequate workmanship and inferior materials, the roads in Nepal of poor quality. Vehicles cannot go fast on the roads and a short 50km journey could take up to 4 hours.
Not all buses in Nepal come with air conditioning so expect minimal comfort. Like many other developing countries in Asia, the taxis in Nepal don’t have functional meters. So you need to bargain or even ask a few taxis before taking one.
